More Miscellaneous News From the Lot

November 28, 2008

Five Came Back is approaching buzz week.  We’ve completed the web site for the feature and are looking forward to presenting it.  Producer Mac’s contest is still on the message board in the General section.  Enter soon if you haven’t already, because the deadline is coming quickly.

Two weeks later we will be releasing JGraham’s Obsession.  Ads are slowly hitting the message board.  Keep an eye out for more as the opening approaches.

Kris Greet has notified us that his adaptation of Syphon Filter should be done by year’s end, give or take.  The video game movie has been long coming, so we’re especially excited about it.  Colin Farrell is slated to star.  We’ll narrow down a release date once we’re into post-production.

Post-production of the secret Miracle Pictures comedy is proceeding well.  An early 2009 release is still expected.

Wrapping up 2008

November 19, 2008

Progress continues for making the turn of the year one that will be remembered by moviegoers.  Five Came Back is scheduled for December 5th.  Obsession is slated for the 19th.  The possibility of another film right after the new year is solid… If one project isn’t completed, another one is available.  And if that one isn’t ready, we’re proud to announce that the Miracle Pictures head himself has just completed the first draft of a new comedy.  Marlowe is not revealing any details on the movie until advertising commences.

For those not in the know, the highest-grossing comedy in the history of HTG Hollywood is a Miracle Pictures/Marlowe production.  Not only that, but three of the top five grossing comedies are the same.  And that top comedy, Cruisified, was 2006’s best-grossing movie and is the top-grossing movie in HTG Hollywood not based on a franchise.

Needless to say, the studio is excited about the possibilities for December and January.

Quick Miscellaneous News

November 12, 2008

Artistic success on upcoming films: Random has agreed to assemble four posters for the upcoming JGraham Western film Obsession.  And Thejd has just informed Mac that he will come up with a poster for the Will Smith movie Five Came Back.

And can it be true?  Trax already has a basic outline completed for a Monty Python movie.  Studio execs and the producer are going over it to see where they should head from there.

Miscellaneous Notes on Studio Films

November 10, 2008

First the bad news.  The Johnny Depp film has been postponed until further notice.  Sometimes things work out.  Sometimes they don’t.  Just as Bryan Bishop cancelled The Park earlier this year, so have we put a hold on this one.  Hopefully things will get ironed out so that we can bring another hit to the HTG big screen.

Lots of good news developed over the weekend, though.  Mac is progressing well on Five Came Back.  It looks like we’ll hit our December 5 release date.  We’re advertising for a final poster artist right now.  If we can’t find one, we’ll just have to settle for (the HTG Award nominated) in-house art.

Monty Python fan Trax has offered to pen a movie using the franchise.  A number of ideas came up during our meeting, but no solid story idea came up.  The producer was told to come up with a basic outline before we nail the project down.

A producer who wishes to remain anonymous for now has also pitched us an idea for an adaptation of a Miracle Pictures/Marlowe property.  Seeing that the franchise has sat without any movement on a script for some time, we’re more than willing to see what this producer comes up with.

We still haven’t heard the current disposition on the western film Obsession.  Is it a classic?  Most likely.  Who directed?  Not known.  Is it true that producer JGraham didn’t even know that Miracle Pictures had a studio blog?  True.  Tsk tsk.  Next he’ll say he didn’t realize we had a studio tour.  For shame!

More production news will be announced as it develops.

Brief December Release Notes

November 8, 2008

Well, maybe we spoke too soon.  It looks like John Ford might not have been the director of the classic western that we’ve uncovered.  We’ll know more soon, hopefully, about who helmed Obsession.

Mac has 50 pages of Five Came Back complete.  That December 5th release date is looking solid.

Expect more ads for both features soon.

December Release a Classic

November 4, 2008

Some movement has been made on the December western by JGraham, titled Obsession.  It turns out that it’s a "classic" western… one "filmed" around five decades ago.  The legendary John Ford has been tagged as the director.  The cast, comprised of stars of that period, have not been determined yet.  It’ll be exciting to see who turns up.
