Five Finds Cast

October 30, 2008

Looks like we finally got a cast for Mac’s adaptation of the film classic Five Came Back. Will Smith, Ellen Page, Jada Pinkett Smith, Zac Efron, Brenda Blethyn, Brian Goodman, America Ferrara, James Lafferty, Nick D’Agosto, Emily Van Camp, Kate Mara, Paul Dano, Brian Austin Green, Elizabeth Banks, Diego Luna and Dania Ramirez are set for the cast. Direction is to be by Paul Greengrass.

Mac is looking for a December 5th release.  Unless something funky happens, we’ll get it there.  We’ll know for sure as November progresses.

Several Features Being Developed for Studio

October 23, 2008

It appears that all is a go for the December western.  Producer JGraham, who recently brought the Halo video game to the big screen, is already deep into Obsession.  Set in Wyoming, the film will feature all the action and violence that can be expected from a major western.  No cast or director has been determined yet.

The skeleton of the November 14th Depp flick is set, with meat slowly being added.  A collaberation between Tyler Durden Productions and Miracle Pictures, the film is expected to bring a mixture of sarcastic wit and off-the-wall parody that would be, well, expected from the pairing.

Tyler has also promised one more film for Miracle Pictures by year’s end.

Negotiations are wrapping up to bring Mac the Movieguy’s adaptation of Five Came Back to theatres.  A remake of the 1939 airplane crash survival film, Mac is looking to sign Will Smith to star.  He hopes to have his project completed for the first half of December.

Mac has also stated that he is looking to release another early 2009 film with Miracle Pictures.  More will come as that develops.

Bryan Bishop is involved heavily with his mainstay features involving Dick Tracy, Batman and Mike Roulette.  Once those are complete, he has two or three movies that he would like to finish for Miracle Pictures.  It looks like the end of 2008 and the start of 2009 will be big for the studio!

More Miscellaneous News From the Lot

October 20, 2008

Miracle Pictures is pleased that Crooked Little Vein has passed the $50 million mark in just two weeks.  If it hangs strong for a few more weeks, the studio hopes that the holiday boost will put it on track for $200 million.  If it does or does not, we consider the release already a success.

Another tour of the franchise list available to Miracle Pictures… We’re considering a call-out for producers to take advantage of our healthy library.  Although ideas have existed for some time concerning properties such as Die Hard, The Jetsons and Starsky & Hutch, it might not hurt to get some fresh blood involved.

A mention in the game updates blog has encouraged extra visitors to the Miracle Pictures lot this weekend.  Plans are to have an expanded tour at the beginning of the year.

No further development has come on that western film mentioned last week, but it’s still assumed that we’ll see the finished product available in December.  Expect an advertising spree by at least the first week in November.

And the Untitled Johnny Depp movie?  More to come soon on that. :)

Something New?

October 15, 2008

A light week here at the studio… CLV is out and the untitled Depp movie isn’t until the 14th of November.  Fortunately, this weekend a new opportunity presented itself.  An established producer approached yours truly about releasing a film that he is working on… a western.  That would be a new one for Miracle Pictures.  More to come when more is known.

CLV BO In

October 10, 2008

The first week’s receipts are in for Crooked Little Vein, Tyler Durden’s adaptation of the Warren Ellis novel.  It opened in 3rd place with $32,050,766, coming in after the first week of Blacksmith’s Minions 2 and the second week of the Flip Brothers/Kris Greet powerhouse Superman 3.  It was obvious from the get-go that Superman 3 would top the BO again… the buzz for The Man of Steel is tremendous.  It appears that an extra $10 million in advertising allowed Minions 2 to get by CLV by $6.8 mil, despite the latter’s better acceptance… The Bulletproof/Avatar filmography’s a very large one.  (That’s not saying, of course, that Blacksmith’s treatment wasn’t interesting, of course.)  We’ll just have to see how Tyler’s movie holds up over the next several weeks.  We’re deeming it a success and know it will pass the $100 million mark at the beginning of December, if not before.

Andrew Newman’s Battle Royale left theatres after 14 weeks with a $211,370,100 domestic gross.  Another success for Newman and Miracle Pictures.  We’re looking forward to working with the eager producer again in the near future.

Miscellaneous Notes

October 7, 2008

A few this-and-that notes…

The luring of a producer to the studio fell through early this morning.  He felt that he couldn’t commit to the time schedule that we required.  That’s fine.  No one knows more than Miracle Pictures head Marlowe how difficult it is to finish a project.

Surprisingly, very few people have noticed that there is a studio tour.  The people who’ve come by have complemented it, though.  Perhaps a little advertising?

Although a goal has been set by producer Kris Greet to have Syphon Filter ready within the next ten weeks, not a word has been received from Misio concerning the promised Monty Python project.  With a franchise cost of $180 million, it’s certain that any Monty Python film suggested would get a serious look.

Although asked, Miracle Pictures has not put its backing on a candidate for HTG Hollywood Mayor.  We feel that a decision must be weighed carefully.

Mystery Movie Remains a Secret

October 4, 2008

With Crooked Little Vein in theatres for a week, the release calendar is free until November 14 of a Miracle Pictures film.  So far mentioned there as an Untitled Johnny Depp film, character posters have appeared for the last month.  One HTG news source made the mistaken assumption that Joey is the title of the film.  As mentioned, the above artwork is a character poster, with the character’s name.

Unless another film is revealed over the next five weeks, Miracle Pictures will be slowly unveiling details behind the mysterious Johnny Depp movie, including the film’s producer.

"Right now we’re keeping it under our hats" explained our studio chief, Marlowe.  "But soon we’ll see more of what the film concerns."

Latest Addition to Studio Lot Opens

October 2, 2008

Wednesday was a big day for Miracle Pictures.  After the meeting with the man with the "secret" last week, we worked hard on the newest addition to the studio lot.  We’ve got a studio tour available now for anyone wishing to come by and see what Miracle Pictures is up to.

It’s a walking tour right now, but don’t worry.  With what we have to show everyone, you’ll never realize that you walked.  We have several things to look at.  More additions will be made to the lot over the next few months, so in January we plan on updating the tour.

Thanks to all who chose to come by.  If you see me, make sure to wave hello.
